Step 1- Cleanser

Cleansing cleans makeup, oils, and dirt from the surface of the skin. Therefore, it is important that it is always the first step of our AM and PM routine to ensure our skin is completely clean before layering the following steps.

If you choose to double cleanse this will create a deeper clean for the skin. An oil/balm-based cleanser will always be the first step of double cleansing as this will help with the dissolving of makeup and products on the surface of the skin. You would then follow with a treatment cleanser which will remove any excess from your first cleanse and finish off cleansing the skin and pores.

Step 2- Exfoliation

Exfoliation is an important step we often miss. Depending on the product you are using for this step it is not something you always need to do daily.

We exfoliate to remove any dead skin cells on the surface of our skin. This leaves it looking brighter and helps with texture, as well as massively benefiting the delivery process of the next products you are going to apply. The following products can then work to their full potential as they can penetrate deeper into our skin.

Step 4 – Treatment/Serum

Serums/Treatments work to target specific concerns. They create highly effective results as they penetrate our skin's surface deeper than any other step and are often packed full of amazing active ingredients. If you are suffering from dehydration, pigmentation, breakouts, etc. Choosing the correct serum to target these concerns can help improve them more than any other step.

Step 5- Moisturiser

Moisturising is the final step in our PM routine. By moisturising the skin it will protect our skin by creating a temporary barrier. They help to improve skin tone and texture on the surface layer of our skin, as well as locking in all the previous steps.

Step 6- SPF

SPF works to protect our skin from invisible damage caused by UVA and UVB rays which are constantly being emitted and penetrating our skin. UV stands for ultraviolet radiation and it can even penetrate through windows causing damage to our skin which can lead to things like pigmentation, uneven skin tone, early signs of ageing and even skin cancer. This step is only needed in your AM routine and not essential for your PM routine.
